The Mayor of Leamington is not happy with the way Essex County Council is assigning money for road work.
Essex County council recently approved $6-million for road rehab work in the coming year, but there is no funding for Leamington or Tecumseh.
John Paterson agrees other projects, in other municipalities, need to be completed but he feels there should be money for everyone. "Some of us are just looking at the numbers being spent in certain areas of the county and we're not seeing the same value for dollars that we contribute."
"County officials need to come together and discuss the issue" says Paterson. "We have been talking about who's roads are whose and why should we all be paying for this, that and the other thing. We have not been able to schedule that meeting forever and so it's just reaching that, I don't want to say a boiling point but it's reaching that point where we're saying let's just do this."
Paterson says his town will be like to see improvements done including new curbs on County Road 20 from Leamington to Kingsville.
