Leamington has approved the design for a new parkette as part of its Uptown Master Plan.
The plan to revitalize Mill Street West was given final approval last year, after demolishing a pair of buildings between Mill Street and Talbot Street West, the last piece of the plan is in place.
Council has approved sewer upgrades and the final design for the new public space that will see tables, landscaping and other improvements.
The total cost to reconstruct the alley and storm sewer work is $395,000, with $130,000 budgeted to build the parkette.
A tender will be sent out to find a contractor for the project in the coming weeks.
