Nathan Staios scored with 1:50 remaining in the third period to lift the Windsor Spitfires to a 2-1 win over the visiting Owen Sound Attack on Mickey Renaud Day.
Chris Playfair scored Windsor's other goal, and Colton Incze made 24 saves to earn second star honours.
The Spitfires outshot the Attack 33-25 and were 0-7 on the power play, while Owen Sound was 0-1.
Windsor has now won three straight games and have moved five points ahead of the Erie Otters for the final playoff spot in the OHL Western Conference.
Prior to the game, the Spitfires paid tribute to their "Captain Forever" Mickey Renaud, who died from a rare heart condition 11 years ago.
