Changes have been made to LaSalle's fireworks bylaw.
Fire Chief Dave Sutton says it's the first time the town has updated the bylaw since 1966.
He says the town's new bylaw is consistent with other municipalities.
"We just basically brought it in line with the federal explosives act that governors the sale of fireworks," says Sutton.
The town describes the bylaw as more "extensive."
It permits the sale, use and display of consumer fireworks while focusing on public safety.
Permits will be needed for commercial firework displays.
Fines have been set at $300 for individual offences.
