The Town of LaSalle has begun work to set-up the stops for a new transit service.
Mayor Ken Antaya says the town has started to install signs on the transit route saying "Future Bus Stop."
Antaya says the signs are being put up now to give the public a chance to get familiar with the stops. "What we're trying to do is we're identifying the stops early so people are aware that's where they're located. Then if anybody has concerns or issues in relation to we're they're located, and if there's additional ones that people want to add on the route, then we can consider it."

"Town administration along with resident suggestions determined the stops," says Antaya. "It was something that once they started to take a look at the route, and they wanted to take a look at where the logical stops would be, they established them there. It's still a work in progress. It's going to be something that in the event that some of these stops aren't logical or we don't have enough ridership, then I suspect that we'll be able to make changes while we go along."
Transit Windsor will be providing bus service in LaSalle after the city and the town reached a five year agreement.
The agreement will see two buses, paid for by LaSalle, run routes throughout 70% of the town.
The looped routes stretch from Front Rd. to St. Clair College.
The service begins the day after Labour Day.
