A new initiative in LaSalle is giving residents a chance to speak directly to the town's mayor.
'Mondays with Mayor Marc Bondy' is set for March 25th and will continue on select Mondays in April and May. Meetings are scheduled for April 15, May 13 and May 27.
Bondy says he wants residents to know that's he approachable.
"Some people think, 'oh the mayor, very important position, they don't have time for the people of their community' and I thought I'm going to put this in my campaign and I'm going to start Mondays with the Mayor," he says.
It's a chance for residents to pop in to see the mayor and share ideas, concerns or ask a question.
Bondy says people can come in when they like.
"You don't have to make an appointment, you don't have to call me, I'm available and we are going to make this time where Mondays at the town, I will be available from 1pm to 4:30pm," he says.
The first 'Mondays with the Mayor Marc Bondy' took place in February and two residents showed up to talk about traffic and pedestrian-related issues.
The meetings take place at the LaSalle Civic Centre at 5950 Malden Rd.
