LaSalle's Kylie Masse has won her heat in the women's 100m backstroke advancing to tonight's semifinal at the 2016 FINA World Swimming Championships. Immediately following the race she told AM800 she was 'pleased' with her swim.

Speaking to reporters yesterday, the Olympic bronze medalist was focused on the details of short-course racing and said she's been doing the same kind of preparation she would for any international competition..
Masse finished 14/100 second ahead of Hungarian Katinka Hosszu (current World and Canadian record holder) and 38/100 up on American Ali De Loof who's from Grosse Pointe.
Masse is set to race in lane 4 of the 2nd semifinal tonight.
