The walking track at the Vollmer Centre in LaSalle is now available to use free of charge.
The town, in partnership with Pathway To Potential, announced the "Walk This Way" promotion to mark the centre's 10-year anniversary.
Supervisor of Programming, Culture and Recreation Julie Turnbull says the public can use the indoor track for free for the entire year.
"Walk This Way is a promotion that we have going on for all of 2018 to get individuals into the centre, getting them active and into our walking track free of admission, free of cost."
She says Pathway to Potential stepped up with some funding help.
"For the from year of 2018, individuals of all ages can come in and use the walking track and walk around our indoor walking track and the funding has been provided to us by Pathway to Potential."
Turnbull says the first week was a success.
"During the first week we had 74 walkers that were just dropping in outside of our typical membership group," says Turnbull. "Definitely the news is out there and people are starting to take advantage of it which is great with the weather, people are getting inside and still moving."
The track is open Monday to Friday from 6am until 10pm and Saturday and Sunday from 7am until 8pm.
