A warmer Autumn means the leaves have stuck around longer
A warmer Fall has the Town of LaSalle extending its leaf collection.
The trees have been able to hold onto their leaves a little longer because of the above seasonal temperatures, so the town has added an additional leaf collection date for December 2.
Leaf pick-up begins November 18 and covers the entire municipality.
Residents are reminded to place leaves in paper yard waste bags, cardboard boxes or garbage pails by the curb of the road for collection. The town stresses the collection is only for leaves and not yard waste or grass clippings.
The leaves are sent to Fighting Island to be used as compost.
