The Town of LaSalle is in the process of developing a new Fire Services Master Plan.
Fire Chief Dave Sutton says the town has hired a consultant to assess current operations and determine where improvements can be made over the next 10 years.
"We're looking at all aspects of the operation in terms of administration, fire prevention, delivery of emergency services, station location, staffing and all the different aspects of fire protection in the municipality," says Sutton.
He says, as the town continues to grow, fire services will have to expand and adds there's a long list of factors to consider.
"Probably some of the bigger drivers are things like station locations and the right compliment of staffing, full-time vs. volunteer, to keep pace with the growth and the standards for emergency response."
Residents have until Friday to provide input on the new Fire Services Master Plan.
The final draft of the new plan is expected to come to council sometime this summer.
