LaSalle Council is asking its administration to dig a bit deeper for savings.Two days of deliberations on the 2017 budget have wrapped up and council is still looking for additional savings.
Administration has been asked to come back with a report Tuesday (Dec. 13) to provide options on the Operations budget.
The goal is to reduce the municipal tax increase. The initial draft budget included an increase of 4.3%.
Council has approved the 2017 Capital Budget of $17.3-million.
The money will be used for construction of a splash pad and accessible playground, a fire substation and work to replace existing infrastructure.
