The Town of LaSalle wants to know if residents want a leash free dog park in the municipality.
Director of Culture and Recreation Julie Columbus says the town is considering the idea, but wants to hear from its residents first. She says a resident recently brought it up.
"It was also something addressed in our parks and [recreation] master plan in 2015 and again a resident did reach out to members of council with a request to find more information about an off-leash dog park," says Columbus.
A preferred site has not been determined.
"There's not an official site located anywhere officially through, however there is some preliminary suggestions and recommendations that have come out of the [recreation] master plan," says Columbus.
She expects the park to cost about $30,000.
A public meeting will take place in either June or July. Following the public meeting, a report will return to town council for direction.
