There could be traffic slowdowns as a result of paving work on the Ambassador Bridge
There will be lane restrictions on the Ambassador Bridge for the next few weeks.
Spokesperson Stan Korosec says re-paving is being done on the truck lane heading from Canada to the United States.
He says there will be some disruptions and delays but the plan is to keep them at a minimum.
Korosec says the work has already started.
"It will start on the Canadian side and end at about where University Ave is and that's just for the temporary closures so we can mill and pave that."
He says there will be some temporary lane closures.
"We can still do two lanes to the U-S during peak U-S bound traffic times and still do two lanes coming back into Canada," says Korosec.
Korosec says lanes will be adjusted during peak times.
"We're used to doing this, we do it all the time so we'll try and minimize any disruptions to traffic," says Korosec.
He says work on the Canadian approach from the river's edge to customs is now completed.
