The University Of Windsor dropped a tough, 5-3 contest to the York Lions to open the third round of the playoffs before a great crowd at South Windsor Arena.
Windsor jumped out to a first period lead, but trailed the visiting Lions 3-2 after fourty minutes.
Kyle Hope, Justice Dundas, and Blake Blondeel scored the goals for the University of Windsor, and Blake Richard made 25 saves.
The game went right down to the wire, with the Lancers down by a goal, until Trevor Peterson scored into an empty net late in the third.
Game two goes tomorrow night in North York at 7:00pm.
