The Windsor Lancers women's basketball team has added Yasmeen Smith to the roster for the 2018-19 season.
The 5'8" forward from Cambridge, Ontario, joins the Lancers from Centennial College, where she played two seasons with the Colts.
Smith was an OCAA East Division First-Team All-Star this past season after averaging near 18 points and more than 15 rebounds per game.
Lancers head coach Chantal Vallee says Smith will bring speed, steals and rebounding to the team.
"I like the fact Yasmeen is an older and more mature player," says Vallee. "She's played post-secondary already for two years and will be able to ease in very quickly in my opinion."
Smith says she's dreamed of playing for the Lancers since her high school days.
"I remember the first time I took in a university game back in high school. It just happened to be when Windsor was playing Carleton in Ottawa," says Smith. "Ever since that day, I fell in love with the school and I knew I wanted to play at that level one day."
Smith will suit up for the Blue and Gold this fall.
