The NHL Draft will take place this weekend in Dallas, with the first round going Friday night, and the remaining rounds taking place on Saturday.
Several Spitfires including, Curtis Douglas, Connor Corcoran, and Matthew MacDougall are among the Spits that could be taken.
Another local player, Riverside's Owen Lalonde isn't overly optimistic he'll be selected although he's not about to give up on his dream.
Lalonde admits he didn't have a great season with the Guelph Storm, scoring just once and adding 21 assists.
"It wasn't an ideal season for me, but I can get obviously get better but still you never know what's going to happen at the end of this week and I'm kind of nervous but looking forward to it so we'll see".
Lalonde, a former Alliance Player of the Year, was a second overall draft pick into the OHL, by Sudbury, says if he doesn't get taken, he'll continue to work hard.
"It would be nice to get drafted to boost the confidence and it would be a pretty big honour, but whatever happens Friday/Saturday move forward from that and just keep working hard".
