A first ever for the Provincial Junior Hockey League.
The Lakeshore Canadiens and Petrolia Flyers battled outdoors at Lanspeary Park in Windsor Friday as part of the league's Outdoor Shinny Series.
Lakeshore picked up its eighth win in a row with a 5-0 final and now sits in third place in the West Stobbs Division seven points behind the first place Essex 73's.
Matt Smith and Blake Bain each had a goal and an assist in the win.
Erik Morneau stopped 23 shots between the pipes for the shut out win.
Two more outdoor games will be played at Lanspeary Park Saturday.
The Wallaceburg Lakers take on the Amherstburg Admirals at 1:45pm follwed by the Blenheim Blades and Wheatley Sharks at 5pm.
