Lakeshore is looking to further educate its residents on flooding defence.
The town will be hosting an information session next week to talk about its new Storm Water Action Plan and what subsidies are available to homeowners.
Lakeshore Mayor Tom Bain says there are several ways to protect your home.
"It'll be an informative session to give them a number of suggestions on ways they can help improve their own property. Use of back water flow valves, grading of their property, a number of items, and certainly to hear what they have to say too."
Residents are still coming in with questions.
"A large number the first couple of days when we posted the program," says Bain. "But they continue to come in daily with people looking for assistance for putting in the back water valves and disconnecting the downspouts. We've opened it to the end of the year so that they can take advantage of the program."
He says the town's newly formed Flooding Task Force will be on hand as well.
"We've also formed a committee with the residents to go over, how can we work together as a team to prevent future flooding? We're hoping that the task force can work on alleviating future problems and looking at what can we do together to lessen it when there is flooding?"
Bain adds, the Essex Region Conservation Authority will be at the meeting as well to talk about what its doing to adapt to the changing climate.
The info session takes place November 14 at the Atlas Tube Centre from 4pm to 8:30pm.
