The Lakeshore Canadiens have grabbed a 1-0 lead in their All-Ontario quarter final playoff series by beating the Exeter Hawks 3-1 at the Atlas Tube Centre.
The Canadiens jumped out to a 2-0 first period lead on goals by Dylan Bradley and Brandon Ireland.
Carter McLlwain scored three minutes into the third to get the Hawks to within a goal, but Hunter Bailey restored the two goal lead just four minutes later.
Erik Morneau made 23 saves to earn the win in goal for the Canadiens.
Game two in the series is Friday at the South Huron Rec Centre in Exeter and game three will be Sunday evening at 7pm back in Lakeshore.
