Lakeshore wants to know what its residents think about retail cannabis.
Back in December, council opted out of hosting a retail pot shop, but mayor Tom Bain says they'd like to take another look at the issue.
The town is hosting an open house on Monday, November 4 to give the public a chance to have its say.
Bain says council would like to hear from residents now that the dust has settled.
"It's legalized now and we felt that it would be in our best interests to sit back for a year, see where it develops, see the direction it went, how it was going. What we want to do is get the voice of the people and then council has decided they would take another look at the issue."
He says they've been keeping a close eye on communities with cannabis storefronts.
"Originally council turned it down because there were so many unanswered questions and we wanted an opportunity to look at other areas that had opened up and then make an evaluation."

Bain says he's anticipating a large turnout for the public meeting.
"We're certainly encouraging people to come to the meeting and there's a lot of interest generated out there and people will be coming in to give their thoughts and comments both for and against."
The meeting goes from 5pm to 7:30pm at the Atlas Tube Centre.
The town has also launched an online survey which can be found at placespeak.com.
Locally, only Lakeshore, LaSalle and Tecumseh opted out of hosting a retail cannabis store.
