Lakeshore's Mayor knows the announcement from Energy Minister Glenn Thibeault won't stop the Romney Wind Farm project, but it puts the brakes on any more.
Tom Bain is relieved the province is taking another step to reduce the cost of electricity.
Minister Thibeault announced Ontario is suspending the procurement of any more large renewable energy projects.
Bain says contract has already been signed for the Romney towers so they won't be affected.
He says the saving may seem small, but he hopes it's just the start: "$2.45 cents a month doesn't seem like a lot, but it's stopped the spiralling of the costs of hydro and I think even though its a small step its the right step and it needs to be followed by a lot more"
Bain believes the chorus of municipalities like Lakeshore who refused to be willing hosts for these projects finally had an impact at Queen's Park.
He hopes this won't slow down the installation of a new feeder line to the Kingsville-Leamington area, but he adds it could hardly be any slower.
