Lakeshore is the latest area municipality to honour veterans.
The town has designated 'veterans only' parking spaces at some of its parks and facilities.
Mayor Tom Bain says the spots are close to entrances and are identified with a sign showcasing a poppy.
He feels it's important to honour veterans.
"It's not just done on Remembrance Day, this is a way we can say thank-you everyday," says Bain. "So when they come in to the municipality, to some of our recreation centres, to our town hall, there's a spot right there."
He says the Royal Canadian Legion assisted with the design of the sign.
"The main thing was how to properly mark it, how did the legion want it properly marked and we met with the legion and some of the veterans there, to make sure that what we did was fine with them and they were in agreement," says Bain.
The spots are for veterans who have a licence plate with a poppy but also those who do not have a poppy licence plate.
The signs are currently located at Lakeshore town hall, the Atlas Tube Centre, Libro Community Centre and a number of parks.
Two veteran parking spots were recently unveiled in the town of Tecumseh.
