The Provincial Junior Hockey League Schmalz Cup quarterfinal between the Lakeshore Canadiens and Exeter Hawks is now a best-of-5 series.
The best-of-7 series in the Provincial Junior Hockey League is tied 2-2 with Game 5 Friday night at the Atlas Tube Centre.
The Canadiens won the opening two games of the series, but the Hawks have bounced back to take the next two games.
Lakeshore defenceman Parker Jacques says his team needs to play with more intensity.
"In the first two games our intensity was a lot higher than the last two," says Jacques. "We worked hard as a team and worked together. In the last two we kind of died down, but I'm not too worried."
He says he expects it to be another battle.
"They're a good team, they work hard, a lot of their guys like to hit. They can score goals. Their top line is a really good line," says Jacques. "But overall, we just got to play better, play to our capabilities, rather than their's."
He says the mood in the dressing room is positive, despite back-to-back losses to the Hawks.
"I think everyone is still pretty confident. Everyone knows what we're capable of playing like. We won the championship for a reason. We're a good team, we just have to work together as a group. If we do that we should be successful," says Jacques.
Game time Friday is at 8pm.
Game 6 is in Exeter Saturday night at 7pm.
