Lakeshore Mayor Tom Bain is hoping to have the 2017 budget finalized next week.
He says council will be discussing the draft document on Tuesday night.
Bain says it is a regular council meeting night but the agenda is light and believes council will have time to tackle the budget.
He says he has talked to many residents and they're expecting a slight tax increase.
"There's always a demand for serves and with those serves you have to increase taxes but one of the main things we hear is you're the lowest taxes in Essex County, we want you to keep them there that's one of the reasons that we enjoy living in Lakeshore so much," says Bain.
The projected tax increase stands at 2.6%.
Tuesday's meeting begins at 6pm.
