The Lakeshore Canadiens are in sole possession of first place in the Stobbs Division of the Provincial Junior Hockey League after a 3-0 win over the Petrolia Flyers.
The Canadiens outshot the Flyers 52-17 at the Atlas Tube Centre on Friday night, including a 22-5 shot disparity in the first period.
Colin Tetreault made 17 saves for the shutout victory. Riley Collins turned away 49 shots in the losing effort.
Lakeshore's Mejoe Gasparovic had two goals while Joe Binder had the other.
The Canadiens used their game in-hand on the Essex 73's to good effect as the win points Lakeshore at 61 points through 29 games while Essex is two points back with 59.
Only three penalties were called in the game, just one going to the Canadiens with Hunter Bryce going to the sin bin at the 13:40 mark of the third period for interference.
