Lakeshore CouncilĀ has approved its 2019 draft budget which will see residents paying a bit more in property taxes.
The budget includes a 1.5% tax increase which will see taxes on a home assessed at $200,000 pay $17.70 more.
Town officials say the budget responds to growth pressures and sustainability measures, while maintaining one of the lowest property tax-rate communities in Windsor-Essex.
Service enhancements include improvements to the town's flood and stormwater systems, $20.9-million in capital expenditures supported by the province and Ottawa.
Mayor Tom Bain says the budget puts road infrastructure projects front and centre.
Final approval of the 2019 budget will be considered by town council on Tuesday, March 19.
