Labour troubles appear to be brewing ahead of the start of the school year at colleges across Ontario.
OPSEU has asked the Ontario Labour Relations Board to schedule a September strike vote.
The union wants a vote to be held for faculty during the second week of September, not long after the start of the fall term.
"Our colleges have played a vital role in providing access to education for the past 50 years," says OPSEU President Warren (Smokey) Thomas. "But to make sure they can continue to do this for the next 50 years there are some serious problems to be addressed."
The current contract covering faculty at colleges across the province, including St.Clair College in Windsor, is due to expire September 30.
