Kevin Kisner's solid opening round has put him atop the leaderboard in the British Open at Carnoustie.
Kisner took only 22 putts in completing a five-under 66 that leaves him one stroke ahead of the field.
Defending champion Jordan Spieth was in range of the lead until he dropped four shots over the last four holes. He signed off on a one-over 72.
Tiger Wood finished his round at even-par 71.
Canadian Adam Hadwin sits at two-over 73.
