The Town of Kingsville is celebrating the addition of a new family physician.
Mayor Nelson Santos says the area has historically been under serviced with many residents leaving town to see a doctor.
Dr. Alexis Taylor lives in the community and will be taking patients at the Leamington and Area Family Health Team's Kingsville office.
Santos says residents are in need of family doctors.
"We have some of our new residents moving into the community and they haven't let go of their roster doctor from whatever community," says Santos. "I know of residents that are driving to London, driving to Toronto to continue with the relationship until they find someone that will basically take over their needs and their family needs."
Residents looking for a new family doctor can pick up an application at 59 Main Street East in Kingsville.
The Leamington and Area Family Health Team currently has more than 27,000 patients at its Leamington and Kingsville offices.
