Kingsville Council has updated its strategic plan to reflect the town's goals leading into 2020.
The new plan will focus on community development and sustainability.
After receiving feedback from the community, council has agreed to make economic development a top priority in the coming years.
Mayor of Kingsville, Nelson Santos says the document is crucial to help guide council with future decisions.
Santos says the plan highlights key areas the town needs to focus on.
"This is an all encompassing plan that updates our previous plan and vision to it carry us past 2020," says Santos.
He says community expansion will be the key to future growth of the town.
"One of the points looked at was business retention and expansion in the community," says Santos."We will be focusing on recognizing the industrial development that we have. At the same time we are not going to put all of our eggs in one basket."
Santos says Kingsville will continue to look for ways to draw people to the community.
The new strategic plan will now be brought to council to be finalized.
