It's time to hit the beach in Kingsville.
As part of the town's Stage 3 reopening plans, all beaches in the municipality will open on Friday.
"Ideally we want to see those people and residents that are going to take advantage of the space again to be cognizant that we're still very concerned about COVID-19 in our community," said Mayor, Nelson Santos. "They need to certainly take all measures that are being promoted."
According to Santos, the town is also reopening its washroom facilities near the beaches.
“We'll be installing additional signage as well updated to advise the public in terms of protocols and measures we're hoping they adhere to again to keep themselves safe and for all beach safety," he said, adding the town has been monitoring the number of confirmed cases in Kingsville.
"We're feeling certainly much more confident over the last two weeks with reports coming from our health unit identifying where we are and our staff have certainly been looking now at not just the opening of the beaches but maintaining and monitoring obviously the water quality," says Santos.
Santos says for now, the town will do its own water sampling tests at Cedar Island Beach and Cedar Beach that have been closed because of COVID-19.
The local health unit usually does the testing but put it off this year due to the pandemic.
