Windsor hasn't monopolized the free fun this Canada Day.
Kingsville will be throwing a party of their own for its 'There is No Place like this Place to Celebrate Canada Day' event Monday.
Maggie Durocher will be pulling double duty this Canada Day, as organizer of Windsor's parade, and as Kingsville's Manager of Programs for Parks and Recreation.
She says a few of the free activities include face painting, an inflatable playground complete with a slip and slide, party putt golf, and beginning at 4:30pm a performance by Mighty Mike and The Fire Guy.
Durocher says free hot dogs and cake will start at 6pm.
"You know what, if you've had enough cake in Windsor and you want to come out, there you go," she says. "It's definitely a let them eat cake day."
She says there's plenty of space and parking at this year's venue.
"Lots of room for everybody to stretch out and then we have free hot dogs ... and our big cake and official ceremonies at 6pm," she says.
Durocher tells AM800 News organizers have really stepped up their game this year.
"They've had this event for years and they always get 2,000, 3,000, people. This year we've really stepped it up a notch. We look forward to some health crowds," says Durocher.
Festivities kick off at 11am at the Kingsville Recreation Complex at 1741 Jasperson Ln.
Windsor's Canada Day Parade also begins at 11am at Ouellette Ave. and Giles Blvd.
