Kingsville Council is saying "no" to a proposed telecommunications tower.
The application from Signum Wireless called for a 50-metre tower on Heritage Road.
Several residents have spoken out against the plan due to its close proximity to a community park and dog park.
Ed Neves lives near the proposed site and says he's happy council listened to the concerns from residents.
He says council made the right call.
"I'm glad we got our wishes. I'm glad town council could understand the efforts and work they've done in developing that area and they've done a good job. They've added a dog park there and they've cleaned up the area."

Neves says a cell tower wouldn't have been a good match for the neighbourhood.
"The concerns, primarily, are just this 50-metre tall tower. It's just out of place. I'm glad town council could realize that, even though they had this request and an opportunity for a little revenue, they realized that they had already put too much work into it to go backwards."
The proposed tower would have been built next to Kingsville's water treatment plant located at 690 Heritage Road.
