John Wayne Pierre is charged with firstdegree murder
Jury selection is underway to start a Windsor murder trial.
John Wayne Pierre, 49, is charged with first-degree-murder in the death of a 42-year old woman in November 2016.
At that time, police arrested Pierre at Caesars Windsor on outstanding warrants.
During the investigation, officers learned Pierre may have been involved in an 'incident' at a home on Curry Ave.
When officers went to the home, they found the body of a woman with obvious signs of trauma.
The two had been in a relationship.
