A long-time Florida Panther says Bob Boughner might be what the hockey club needs to turn the corner.
AM800's Steve Bell caught up with Windsor-native Ed Jovanovski at Pointe West Golf Club in Amherstburg.
Jovanovski was hosting his first annual golf tournament in support of breast cancer, a disease that his mother was diagnosed with several years ago.
"We're happy for him — I think the organization made the right move by bringing Bobby in and I think he's kind of experienced every level," says Jovanovski. "He's had success, especially working under Peter Deboer in San Jose. He's definitely got a bunch of knowledge to bring to the young guys. The town's excited."

"Hockey slipped a little bit last year in Florida and I think the excitement's growing back — I think Bobby at the helm is going to be good. I'm still told him I'm waiting for the call, but I have to make sure he has my number."
Eddie was selected first overall by the Panthers in the 1994 NHL Draft.
