Josh Donaldson hit a two-run homer in the first inning and the Blue Jays held on to top the Rays 2-1 in Toronto. Donaldson also doubled and finished with two of the Jays' five hits. Nick Tepesch tossed six-plus innings of four-hit, one-run ball to pick up the win. Roberto Osuna locked up his 30th save.
Toronto has won three straight and four-of-six overall. Tampa Bay starter Jake Odorizzi surrendered the two runs over six frames to take the tough-luck loss. Wilson Ramos homered in the second to prevent the shutout.
The Rays are on a four-game slide.
Marco Estrada looks to continue his string of strong performances tonight when the Blue Jays face the Rays at Rogers Centre. Estrada has pitched seven innings in each of his last three starts. Lefty Blake Snell gets the start for the Rays.
