A Leamington man is once again helping children in need this holiday season.
37-year-old Carlos Delgado is hosting his 3rd annual "Help Carlos Stuff the Bus" event in Leamington this weekend.
Delgado says starting on Friday, he will be living in a school bus and will not leave it until it's filled with toys, canned goods and coats.
He says he spent 52 hours on the bus in year one and 50 hours in year two.
"Sleeping on a bus and staying on a bus, it gets very cold at night," says Delgado. "I'm hoping this year will be mild but it is so much fun and it's great watching parents bringing kids, and showing their kids what a sense of giving is. It is really what Christmas is about, it is the best part of the whole thing."
He says year two was better than year one.
"The first year we had 520 toys, last year we actually had 627 toys," says Delgado.
He says it was colder on the bus last year.
"Two years ago was bad but last year was brutal," says Delgado. "I am hoping the community will please help me stuff the bus sooner so I don't have to stay so long."
The bus will be located at the Tim Horton's on Erie Street South.
The donations will support the Children's Aid Society.
From there the society will distribute the donated items to less fortunate children living in the Leamington area.
