The 101st International Plowing Match kicks off today (Tues Sept 18) in Chatham-Kent.
More than 80,000 visitors are expected to the small village of Pain Court over the next five days (Sept 18-22).
Premier Doug Ford, NDP Leader Andrea Horwath, Interim Liberal Leader John Fraser as well as many local politicians will help open the event.
Gates open at 8:30am and plowing competitions begin at 9:30am.

There will be a parade through Tented City at 10:30am with the official opening ceremony and ribbon cutting at 12noon.
Among one of the featured events on the opening day is an attempt to break the Guinness World Record for Largest Egg & Spoon Race.
A free shuttle is available — it will operate from 8am-5pm daily the Walmart parking lot on St. Clair Street to the IPM.
Admission is $20 per adult each day, $5 each for children age six to 15, children five and under are free.
