The global nature of the student population at the University of Windsor is being celebrated.
World Student Day was recently celebrated here and at 13 other university campuses across Canada.
Organizer Katia Benoit says about 13% of the university student body is international students.
"We had a Canadian trivia tower building contest, we have the large Jenga pieces out, we have students hoola-hooping, obstacle courses, a free throw contest, ping-pong, table tennis and the large bubble wands"
Benoit says it's important to recognize the international students.
"The celebration is just showing our appreciation for the international students that choose to come and study and hopefully actually live in Canada. It just speaks to the Canadian atmosphere we have here and the supportive nature of Canadians in general and hopefully they'll choose to continue their academic studies at the University of Windsor and live in Windsor"
This is the fifth year for World Student Day.
