Injured Amherstburg Cop Released From Hospital

He sustained serious injuries while on the job

The condition of an Amherstburg police officer, injured on the job, after being struck by a car has improved.

The officer has been released from the hospital.

Around 2am Monday, September 3, the officer was hit by a vehicle while standing near his police cruiser in the 4600 block of Alma St.

He sustained serious, but non-life threatening injuries and was taken to the hospital.

He is recovering at home and has not returned to work.

No charges have been laid and the investigation is continuing.
