Infrastructure Ontario has set some timelines for Windsor's new mega hospital.
In its Market 2017 update released Monday, it pointed out that it will issue a "Request for Qualifications" in 2021 for the project estimated at more than $1-billion.
Back in April, the province announced funding for the acute care hospital approving the next stage in the project which includes developing a detailed description of the programs to be delivered, workload with the programs, staffing, equipment and space needs.
"This is an outstanding announcement," says Windsor Regional Hospital CEO David Musyj. "It means our new state of the art acute care hospital is a reality and is happening. Expect to hear more announcements in the weeks to come. Once we have all of the details of the next steps of the project we will be sharing all of the news with the community. Stay tuned."
The hospital will be located on land at County Rd. 42 and the 9th Concession.
