One Penske Racing driver is looking to complete his own "Duel in Detroit."
Simon Pagenaud entered the winner's circle on Belle Isle in 2013 and looks to return this year.
The French driver likes the course, but admits it is one of the more challenging ones.
"It's got a lot of corners, 14 corners. It's a street course so you've got to be really close to the walls to go fast, you've got to take a lot of chances. It's also quite bumpy, so you have to balance the car around on the bumps which is a very difficult act"
He says the new cars being used this year will be more exciting to watch.
"The weight of the car is moved more forward, which changes the characteristic. Driving style is changing and tire wear is more important. It's good for the fans I think because the car slides more, you get to see more steering wheel input and racing is good as always"
The Detroit Grand Prix goes June 1-3.
Pagenaud has already been on a big stage in Detroit today, he threw out the ceremonial first pitch at the Tiger's game.
