The Cleveland Indians have tied the longest winning streak in American League history.
Corey Kluber fired a five-hitter as the Tribe shut out the Tigers 2-0 at Progressive Field for their 20th consecutive victory. That matches the longest AL streak set by the Oakland A's in 2002.
The Indians need to complete the series sweep of the Tigers today to tie the modern-day record of 21 consecutive victories set by the 1935 Chicago Cubs.
Kluber struck out eight without a walk to improve to 16-and-4.
Francisco Lindor hit his 30th home run for Cleveland.
Matthew Boyd fell to 5-and-10 with the loss. Nicholas Castellanos had two hits for the Tigers.
In this afternoon's finale, Buck Farmer goes to the hill for Detroit, while Mike Clevinger takes the mound for Cleveland.
