Oscar Mercado's second homer of the game snapped a 5-all tie in the seventh inning and the Cleveland Indians went on to beat the Detroit Tigers 8-6 at rainy Progressive Field.
Tyler Naquin's two-run double tied the game at five in the sixth for Cleveland.
After Mercado's go-ahead solo shot in the seventh, Jose Ramirez tacked on a two-run double for an 8-5 Tribe lead. Nick Wittgren got the win.
Brad Hand gave up a solo homer to Jordy Mercer in the ninth before posting his 25th save.
Mercer homered twice, and Jeimer Candelario and Christin Stewart also went deep for Detroit. Victor Alcantara took the loss.
The Indians have won eight straight meetings with the Tigers and nine of 10 in the MLB season series.
