A Fort Wayne, Indiana man who wrote about wanting to leave the US under a Donald Trump Presidency is ready to pack his bags.
Phillip Dusseau had written a letter to the Windsor Star indicating he wanted to move to Windsor if Trump was elected.
He says the divisive pledges of Trump worry him: "Donald's about to reverse medical equality, ban Muslims and do all these things he says he's going to do. I don't think you can make broad strokes like that. But he does and I think if the general public is willing to accept that, I'm not willing to"
He says he's already started the process to come to Canada, filling out forms a couple of weeks ago to get preliminary approval. Now he's ready to take the next steps.
Dusseau says the State of Indiana where he lives is very bigoted: "just the other day I witnessed a Trans person be assaulted super badly for what seemed to be nothing just a lot of hatred toward minorities so I'm absolutely looking to get out of Fort Wayne regardless"
He says the fact Trump has been elected means he doesn't see things the way most Americans do.
Dusseau says he is a business administrator and is looking for a Canadian to offer him a position.
