Expect to see more Windsor police officers in the downtown core over the next two days.
The Windsor Police Service will deploy additional officers to the downtown core on Wednesday and Thursday to promote community safety and reduce incidents of crime.
Uniformed officers will be on foot, bicycles or marked vehicles to proactively engage business owners, residents and others in the downtown area to build stronger relationships and to continue addressing the needs and challenges of the downtown community.
The enhanced police presence will also focus on deterring criminal activity and reducing public disorder.
A similar increase was put in place at the end of May.
Constable Bianca Jackson says people will see a significant difference.
"We usually do have our CCP officers who do patrol the downtown area but with the addition of the other resources, it will be noticeable," she says.
The campaign will see members of our City Centre Patrol (CCP) bolstered by extra resources from the Problem-Oriented Policing (POP) Unit, Community Services, Cadets, Nurse Police Teams (NPT), and Mobile Crisis Rapid Response Teams (MCRRT).
