Impaired driving charges have been laid after a head-on crash on Hwy.3 in Essex.

As AM800 News reported last night, OPP were called for a two-vehicle collision on the highway between North Malden Rd. and Essex County Rd. 23 around 6pm Tuesday.

A blue Chevrolet and a green Jeep collided head-on causing extensive damage to both vehicles.

The driver and passenger of the Jeep suffered minor injuries while the driver of the Chevrolet was not hurt but showed signs of impairment.

The highway was closed for two hours as police investigated.

A 24-year-old Leamington man will appear in court November 22 charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and driving a vehicle exceeding 80mg of alcohol.

His licence has been suspended.
