Skaters will soon be back on the ice at the Atlas Tube Centre in Lakeshore.
The arenas and community centre was closed March 15 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but Rink C has now officially reopened with several safety precautions in place.
Mayor Tom Bain says there will be limitations and safety precautions.
He says there will be a limit of ten people on the ice at one time, coaches included and only organizations can use the rink.
"It's limited to hockey and figure skating organizations, not to individuals yet," says Bain. "So this is really a trial run to see how well it'll go and we're anxious to get it off the ground."
He says this is something the community has been asking for.
"We've been working with the organizations and they have been extremely patient and they are eager and ready to go to try this out and we're eager to see them get into their hockey season," says Bain.
Town staff will be on hand to greet visitors and educate them on procedures and restrictions.
Individuals interested in being placed on the ice time waiting list should call the Atlas Tube Centre at 519-727-0470.
