He was best known for saving Chrysler after it filed for bankruptcy in the 1980s

The funeral service for renowned automobile executive, Lee Iacocca will take place on Wednesday.

The former Chrysler Chairman died on July 2nd at the age of 94.

He was best known for saving Chrysler after it filed for bankruptcy in the 1980s and also served for eight years as Ford's CEO before taking over Chrysler where he eventually retired in 1992.

Iacocca had a major impact on the local auto industry playing an instrumental role in bringing the Chrysler minivan to Windsor.

The funeral service will begin at 11am in the main church at St. Hugo of the Hills Parish, 2215 Opdyke Road, Bloomfield Hills, Michigan.
