There will be a change in traffic for drivers who regularly use Huron Church Rd, north of the EC Row Expressway in Windsor.
A reconstruction project enters phase two this week, so the two-way traffic will be shifted over to the newly completed northbound lanes, so that crews can work on the southbound lanes.
The improvements include infrastructure upgrades to water mains, street lighting and traffic signals as well as repaving between Malden Rd. and Dorchester Rd.
Executive Director of Operations Dwayne Dawson says people who do business in that area will be able to get in and out.
"All the businesses on the eastside of the road will have access again, right turn in and right turn out and the side streets as well, Malden and Totten and out of the mall there as well," he says.
This phase of the work will continue for five to six weeks, until the end of June.
Dawson says despite the rainy weather, work is on schedule.
"We have had some extra crews on site, trying to pick up the schedule, we are probably a few days behind because of the rain, with the extra crews and the manpower that we have put on site, we have been able to keep it close to schedule," he says.
Phase three of the project will include reconstruction of the medians.
The total cost of the project is $5.5-million.
